Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are two household names around America, probably from their appearance in their family's reality television gigs. Frankly, I was surreptitiously following the two hot shows -- Keeping up with the Kardashians, and the Real housewives of BH, and I have to confess it was quite exhilarating to watch the conflicts and quarrels between "the rich and famous". After these many seasons, I have designated Kendall and Gigi as two of those TV personalities like their family members, but they suddenly all appeared on runways of some major fashion shows or the cover of renowned magazines. So I couldn't help but wonder, do they really have what it takes to be a proper model? If so, is transformation like this will become a usual phenomenon in the future? or their families are just more "relatable" to success in general.
Let's break down the two typical examples - Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid.
Kendall Jenner is evidently the little sister of Kim Kardashian, and she is in the hit show "Keeping up with the Kardashians" from the beginning. As an audience, I almost witness the entire growth of Kendall and always thought she is just an ordinary hollywood socialite just like her Kardashian sisters. Thus, the huge juxtaposition of her reality and my expectation is what shocks me the most. When I saw her on Marc Jacob's show for her fashion week debut, and how people and media described her, I knew she is going to be the next supernova in fashion, definitely taking a path unlike her fellow sisters.

And she has scored some major magazine covers this year.
Next is Gigi Hadid, she is the daughter of one of the housewives of Beverly Hills - Yolanda Foster. She appeared several times on TV when she was in high school. Different from Kendall, she claims her interest in modeling very early on. Therefore, her family was very supportive about her career choice. As a prominent Beverly Hills family, her mother Yolanda Foster quickly networked her into the fashion industry. She soon became the Guess girl, and then her career took off from there. Now, Gigi has became Tom Ford's new muse. From clothing line, to fragrance, even to eyewear; she dominates all the advertising campaigns of Tom Ford.

From models.com, I can see both Gigi and Kendall started modeling around the sometime. With the similar family background that makes them so much closer to success, their future was unstoppable. However, their styles of modeling were quite different. Kendall Jenner is more like a high fashion runway/editorial model; but with the curve, Gigi Hadid is more of a commercial/campaign type of girl. There is nothing wrong with either type, they are just two different branches in modeling.
At the end, I am really interested in their future growths as newcomers, and I am genuinely jealous of their closer relationship with success.
